Hands down that this family had a much rougher time than I did at this session. There were ants (lots of ants), heat and humidity, a very tired little girl who hadn’t taken a nap, and a little boy who got in a funk after the ants attacked him. You can’t blame him though. And I’ve noticed that every time something happens to my kids like ant attacks, fall on the cement, etc….and I tell them that they’re fine or suck it up then you know what inevitably happens to me within the next few days? The exact same thing…and then I think, dang! that really hurts!

Luckily, this park by their home had swings and slides and that always helps to get a kiddo out of a photo funk:) Their mom gets the award for trying the most ever ideas to make the pictures happen. She will sing, jump up and down, create pyramids, whatever it takes! Thanks so much Christina for always working so hard to get the photos:) Hope you enjoy.

Aren’t they adorable? When my girls found out I was having a photo session with twins they both begged to help. And so they went with me and instantly fell in love with these 2. On the way home they couldn’t quit talking about them…about how they liked their names, how adorable they were, and how we need another baby. They want a new little sibling. Or twins specifically. Ummm, I don’t think so girls:)

We got back yesterday from a long weekend at the lake. We go every year for my husband’s grandfather’s birthday. It’s a lot of fun. There are lots of boats, jet skis, fish frys, games, and there’s been bands and karaoke. There is one large 2-story cabin that sleeps lots of people, lots of small cabins, people bring campers and the number of people has gone higher every year. This was the 8th year and I think the final count was like 147 people. A couple of years ago we found a horse ranch a couple of miles away that has about 8 rooms to stay at that included horseback riding, a pool, a petting zoo, and beautiful scenery. We thought we were so clever that for about the same price we were staying somewhere bigger and nicer than down at the lake. So, we kept it on the down low:)

Last year there was a new owner at the ranch and the petting zoo and horseback riding was gone. Fine…it’s still nicer than the super small cabins at the lake:) Fast forward to this year. There is someone new leasing the ranch. There is supposed to be horseback riding (if the head lady is there…which she mostly wasn’t). The pool is yucky. There are a few animals in the back where the petting zoo used to be. And anyone that knows me knows that I’m a huge animal lover. In fact, we rescued a kitten from the lake a few years ago. Well, this weekend I found one animal that I’m not such a fan of. A rooster. And this rooster happens to be in a pen that is about 10 feet directly from our back windows. I’ve heard about roosters crowing but until you’ve experienced one practically in your room then you just don’t know! He started at 5am on the dot. I thought they just crowed for a little bit. Well, apparently I don’t know much about roosters because at 9am he was still making noise….every couple of minutes. As I lay in bed I wondered who would possibly keep a rooster right behind the rooms that they rent out. And if there was ever a few minutes that went by that he didn’t make noise then I found myself waiting the see when he would do it again. Stupid.freaking.rooster…congratulations on being the one animal in this world that I don’t want to see again!!! Other than the green pool and our friend the rooster we had a great time. We’re all a little red and worn out but so glad to celebrate another year with Chad’s grandparents and other relatives.

Now onto these adorable kids. It’s been about a year since I’ve seen them and little miss has gotten quite a bit bigger and a lot quicker. Her brother is still the best posing boy ever and so helpful. He helps corral her and helps to elicit smiles. Thanks Mr. J!

Precious newborn and her family. When she was asleep she was really out and very cooperative:) I’m running out the door for a session so not too many words…I know you guys are anxious to see something:) Hope you enjoy:)

People that are in front of the camera usually need a little direction or help on poses…um, not this girl. I quickly realized that she totally knew what she was doing and had said that she had had to take some classes in posing for the print modeling that she does. I was really impressed!

Totally jealous of her looooonnnnnngggg legs!

This family is wonderful to me. They have given countless gift certificates to their friends for photo sessions and they’ve referred more than a handful of people:) Thanks guys!! They are expecting their 2nd child and aren’t finding out what they’re having. I can’t wait to see if Mr. A is getting a baby brother or baby sister. It seems like yesterday that he was the best newborn ever at his newborn session.

Mr. A’s mom called me and explained that she hated to be last minute but that her parents were flying in on Wednesday and her dad would then leave the next day. Did I have a few minutes to just take some snapshots of them with their grandson. How can I refuse some of the best clients ever?? I ran over and was there just a super short time but we literally snapped away and got some shots of them. Mr. A didn’t want to leave his mom out so she jumped in for most of them. that their home and the surrounding area is a gold mine for photography. When they thought that one area was too messy I told them it was perfect. Wagon wheels, old buildings, vines growing along the side…I couldn’t ask for more. I’m so glad that it worked out that evening. Hope you enjoy your peek:)

with the leg lifts. Check out his newborn feet picture from his newborn shoot. It was so cute how he lifted his tiny newborn legs the first time and really humorous to see he’s still at it. He has to have some major stomach muscles.

When his momma contacted me the first time regarding maternity pictures we didn’t know that we actually live in the same neighborhood (pretty close too), have the same type of dog, and their daughter will start kindergarten at the same school with Drew. It’s been great getting to know them a little bit. Their daughter will be a STAR. She is so full of spunk! During this shoot I did a few of her by herself and you should have seen the poses she was coming up with. We were laughing so hard! I think Drew would have a blast having her in class.

They contacted me to do couples pictures at the very location where they spent a lot of time while they were dating, where he proposed, and now where they live. We walked around and had the best time finding perfect photo spots.

They were both naturals in front of the camera. And I have to give a shout out to her man for wearing purple! I love when a man is manly enough to wear a feminine color:)!
