  • I’m gonna go broke from…

bribing my girls the way I have been the last couple of nights. I love for them to play with my hair and especially while I’m sitting at the computer working. Mackenzie started her own “Hair Style Shop” and I’ve been taking advantage. Tonight I called her and said, “I’d like to have my hair done.” She asked which style (she has 16 different styles drawn on a piece of paper) and I picked out the one I thought would take the longest. She finished much to my dismay and a few minutes later I told her that I wanted a different style. She obliged. Then she was getting cranky so Cassidy took over. I had to pay them each some change. I really should get my camera and get some pictures of my hair right now. There’s a ponytail in the back of my head but it doesn’t include much hair. It’s tied with a huge blue bow/bead thingie that’s totally obnoxiously BIG. Then I have braids down each side by my face. It really is lovely. Wink!:) Maybe I can talk the girls into a foot rub shop next!

For this photoshoot the family knew what type of pictures they wanted but man did we have to wait, and wait, for the sun to cooperate. Their girls were so cute, especially playing around in the field waiting to do some pictures. It was too cute when at one point the 5-year-old was posing for a photo by herself and all of a sudden we see rabbit ears spring up behind her head. Her 3-year-old sister (whom I didn’t even realize was behind her)decided to add them! Hope you enjoy your sneak peek!

  • Email Issues

I had someone a couple of weeks ago that said they had emailed and I never received it. Then yesterday and today there have been 3 more. So, I guess I’m having email problems. If you’ve emailed me and I haven’t responded within 24 hours please shoot me another one. THANKS!

  • Superbaby and the song …

I can’t get out of my head. Isn’t he adorable? Kelli and her family drove quite a ways for our photoshoot(thanks guys!) and it was getting close to Mr. Case’s bed time. Poor thing, he was ready to call it a day and we were doing everything (especially his aunt) to get some happy pictures. I asked them if there are any songs that he likes and they kind of laughed and were like, well, um yeah, there’s this one song, but…. Ok, so let’s hear it. It’s a song that they’ve made up that has his name and a really catchy rhythm. And let me tell you the whole time I’ve worked or even glanced for a millisecond at their pictures this song creeps into my head and I’m bobbing up and down to his little personal tune. Hey guys, I think you should youtube this song so everyone can jam! Hope you enjoy your sneak peek!:)

Look at Mr. Superbaby. When he’s put on his belly this is what he does.

I adore the innocent look on his face looking up at dad.

  • This time last week…

we had a naked baby outside in a basket. And tonight I froze my bootie off at an outdoor shoot. My van said it was just 60 but it felt freezing! (Before you think I’m a major wheenie there was a really strong wind along with the lowered temps).

This precious little girl’s parents were so sweet. They had taken a parenting class before she was born and in the class they presented all of these techniques that help calm a baby. Boy, do they work. Every single time she would get fussy her dad would get her to calm down within minutes using what he had learned. I was amazed!
Thanks for letting me do her newborn pictures. Hope you enjoy your sneak peek!

  • Senior Session

She chose the coolest location for pictures. This place is mostly used for weddings and they have lots of indoor and outdoor spaces to work with. The indoor areas are mainly decorated with unique-looking antiques. She has the most gorgeous skin and eyes and definitely knew how to work the poses! Hope you enjoy!

  • Permission Granted

The owner of the stables was here this time so I was able to ask if it was ok to do pictures here. She was super nice and said sure. Logan was a little unsure of the horses so he was attached to his mom quite a bit but still gave me a huge variety of 3-year-old faces. Enjoy guys!

  • I can’t believe…

that I’ve done 3 posts in one day. It’s a miracle!

Sofia was as sweet as can be. I could not get enough of her with her doll and her little toothy smile. I remember the days of just me, my husband, and our first child. It was such a special time with just our little family. Of course I love our bigger family but there’s something about being first-time parents and doting all of your attention on that first one. (I think I remember that it was cheaper, too!) Thank you guys for your patience with the bright sun! Hope you enjoy your sneak peek.

  • Mr. Speeeeeeeddddyyyy!

You know how normally when you take consecutive pictures that if you were to click through them quickly it would almost look like a video…well, with Mr. Koehl’s (aka Mr. Speedy) pictures it would be the most confusing video ever. While I flipped through his pictures on the computer (in consecutive order that they were taken) they made no sense at all! In one picture he’s going left looking right, then in the next he’s going straight looking left, then heading right but looking at me, etc….He is the quickest, most adorable little 9-month-old ever. He definitely had his own direction in mind. We had to be quick, and I still can’t believe that I got as many as I did with eye contact! And as I look through the ones that I’m posting for the sneak peek it looks as though he were quite still. But let me tell you that these are deceiving because the pictures before or after these would be of him on the move. Thanks for meeting with me guys. I hope you enjoy your sneak peek of your little guy.

  • Sweet Little Guy

It wasn’t too long ago that I posted maternity pictures of this family of 2. Now little Preston is here and they’re a family of 3. He was sooo sweet and completely adored by his parents and grandparents. It was really hard to narrow these down because we did so many different things with him since he was so willing. Thanks for letting me take pics of your little one! Hope you enjoy your sneak peek.

I hope to add some more blog posts today to try and catch up. So, if you’re waiting on one…be sure to check back in soon:)

  • 3 x’s a Bust

(Foreshadowing) Note to future clients: You probably shouldn’t trust me to pick the locations:)

Lately a lot of people have just said “Why don’t you pick the location. You probably know the good spots.” Which is exactly what Mr. Logan’s family did. So, since I’ve been going to a lot of the same places I thought that it would be fun to try a few places that I either hadn’t used in a while and one new place that I’ve had my eye on for months. We meet up and they are going to follow me to the first location — a group of large, gorgeous oak trees…let me correct that…they once were gorgeous. Because now, as I drive up, I realize that Hurricane Ike caused them to be trimmed quite a bit and there are a lot of downed wooden fences around them. We’re able to do a few pictures and decide to move on to Lucky Location Two. NOT!

Location Two: A field of overgrown weeds, grass, wildflowers…it’s perfect for the direction the sun was setting. We unloaded the couch(which is no easy feat), get it set up just at the edge of the greenery and start taking pictures. About 15 shots into the pictures they start jumping up and down shrieking because there are ants. I mean, there are ants covering their feet and ankles. Luckily, little Logan didn’t have any on him. SORRY GUYS! We get all of them off and try a new spot…more ants. Next we move to a cemented area…a large (once was a parking lot) cemented area. Surely ants don’t congregate on cement. Well, apparently they do because here we go again with the ants. Let’s blaze from Location Number Two and on to Location Number Three.

Location Three: An abandoned store on a good-size lot where the sun really does set perfectly. I have envisioned a family shot right by the old door at the side. I tell them where to set up and as we approach I realize that the glass at the door has been busted out and is all over the ground in front. AAAHHHH! We are having no luck with locations. And I’m starting to think that ants are a recurring theme for me.

Logan is an absolute doll. He has the most gorgeous eyelashes and charming smile. Luckily, he cooperated wherever we ended up at. I really appreciate you guys having such a willingness for anything…it’s always fun to try new ideas. I hope you’re having a great vacation. Enjoy your sneak peek!

Everytime I look at these pictures I hear this in my head:
The ants go marching one by one, hurrah, hurrah
