I’m scared to have a tween/teen! And Mackenzie is getting close…scary! But I’ve done these kids’ pictures for years now and they’re getting to that age that I worry and stress about and being with them makes me see how fun it can be. They have so much personality (as you can see in the “outtakes” collage) and laugh at themselves and with each other that I’m kind of looking forward to it now. THANKS guys..I have such a blast doing photo sessions with you:)

Sisters
Here’s Miss H and her new little sister. Little sister has a chin just like my niece and it’s soooo adorable!
The session was getting a *little* crazy and their mom said “I can’t wait to see what you write on your blog about this session”. The thing is that it is much more stressful on the parent of the child or children in the pictures than it is for me as the photographer. But I completely understand because nothing can get me as flustered as when I try and do pictures of my own kids. There have been many times where I’ve yelled “Just get together and act like you love each other”!!! So no worries…the only stress I had was trying to make sure I could give you some good pictures of your girls at this age:)

Ten on Tuesday
I’m so excited that I hit a “T” day to do the “Ten on Whatever Day”. Never mind that it’s been over a week….we won’t dwell on that:)
– I don’t know about you but when I place my groceries on the conveyor belt at the grocery store I try to load them so fast that the checker never has to wait on me for items. Just a little thing I like to do. Normally, the checkers seem like they are in about as much of a hurry as molasses. Just taking their sweet little time to make their day go by and to make you late for picking up kids from school;) Well last week I had a checker that I think was playing the “I’m going to ring up her items so fast that she can’t keep up with getting them on the belt”. Ha! It was like we were in this unspoken race to out-do the other. It was actually quite fun and I’m going to look for his line next time I’m in there.
– Totally random…but if I find a french fry at the bottom of my bag when I think that they’re all gone…MAKES MY DAY! It’s the little things people. (And especially if it’s from Chick-Fil-A.
– I have a problem with Chick-Fil-A. And eat it waaaaaayy to many times a week. Had it 3 times between Friday and yesterday (and they’re closed on Sunday). Bad, I know. But at least a lot of the time I get their side salad. With a side of fries:)
– I get teased mercilessly about how I should own stock, own a store, I’m a VIP, am putting the owner’s kids through college, that they must check with me before they add menu items, etc…..at Chick-Fil-A
– My husband turned me on to Napster. I have a playlist of some favorite songs but I guess since it’s one account we can’t listen to our different playlists at the same time at different computers. I usually wait until the evening to listen but the other day I just couldn’t wait so I logged on. Apparently, we really can’t listen at the same time because he emailed me immediately from work to see if I had logged on. He had been kicked off:)
– We joke around that we each have the better playlist. I’ve caught him listening to mine:) And for the record, I’ve never listened to his. I win!
– My air conditioning went out in my van 2 days ago. I’m so thankful that we had a cool front when this happened.
– The Christmas card samples are almost done.
– Several sets of twins are due this Fall and I’m excited!
– Saw these on Lyndsey Stradtner’s blog and already ordered 2. Drew loves to have dipping sauces and it’s perfect for that. Packed him Ranch dressing for his carrots today and it’s environmentally friendly…no bags to worry about. They come with stickers so they can personalize them and he had to use every single sticker that it came with.
This doll wasn’t too into smiling until her daddy started letting her “pretend fall” off of the fence. I decided she was a thrill seeker and we got the best smiles when she was falling or being thrown in the air.

6 months old
He was soooo good for his pictures. He’s only 6 months old and I was pretty impressed at how well he could sit and stand next to things. And on top of that the photo shoot was around his bedtime. I’ve known his mom since she was in elementary school and it was great to see her all grown up with a child of her own.
Hope you enjoy your peek:)

Ten on Whatever Day
A lot of bloggers have “themes” for the different days of the week and one of those that I’ve seen is “Ten on Tuesday” or “Ten on Thursday”. It’s just 10 things that they want to talk about and it’s a great way for readers to learn more about you. I’ve always wanted to do this. I have so many things I’d like to do and include on here but never find the time. So, I was going to start this last week. Oh, how about Tuesday? That’ll work….Ten on Tuesday. Well, Tuesday came and went and no blog post for that. So, we’ll wait for Thursday. Guess what? Thursday came and went. So, this week I thought I’ll get a head start on it because I have 2 “T” days coming up and surely can get this done on one of these days. Well, guess what? It’s Friday. And the 2 “T” days are gone. So, I’m going to officially call it “Ten on Whatever Day” I can get it on here:) Here goes:
– We went to Wimberley, Tx and stayed at a home on the river for Labor Day. We had a blast and I’ll be sharing pictures soon:)
– My son is the biggest sweet talker ever. I have no clue where he got this but he was born that way. The night before the first day of school I told him I would lay down with him in bed for a little bit. He kept talking so I threatened to leave. Finally, he was quiet for a few minutes and then I hear him rustling around. The next thing I know his pajama pants fly over my head to the floor. I asked him what he was doing and he said “I had put my thinking pants on to think about you but now I’m taking them off to go to sleep”.
– He also is always telling his sisters that they look pretty, their hair looks pretty, etc… He’s five.
– He needs to teach his father a little of this:)
– We’re finally getting new carpet for the areas that still have it. It’s on order and I can’t wait! Meanwhile, we sold Mackenzie’s bedroom furniture and are in the process of redoing it. I need to paint before the carpet is installed. Anyone know of any amazing colors or bedding to look at?
– Drew now thinks we should re-do his room. He wants characters and can’t decide on which ones so he said one wall Spongebob, one wall Spiderman, one wall Phineas and Ferb (or Ferm) as he says and hasn’t decided on the fourth.
– Drew doesn’t know this but it ain’t gonna happen. EVER.
– He’s lucky he got a Spongebob backpack!
– I’d like to include inspiring blogs and here’s one I love: http://crazysexylife.com/
You’ve probably heard of her but in case you haven’t check her out.– Is that ten? Awesome…have a great weekend!
I feel like I had an anniversary with this couple because they are one of the few families where I’ve done pictures for both of their kids when they were born. How cool is that?! She was pretty small and I equated that to being easy, sleepy, curly. Well, she was strong, nosey (wanted to look around the whole time), and precious. Congrats you guys and thanks for letting me do pictures this time around as well.

Baby B
I went on location to their home to do this session. Their daughter who used to seem so young and small suddenly seemed like such a big girl now that she has a little brother. She adored him and was really good at posing with him. I was super impressed because their home was beautiful and I found out they had just moved in 3 weeks before! It was already decorated and so put together….plus there’s a new baby! Talk about a supermom!
I love the last picture almost as much as the first!!:):)

Fall 2010 Mini Sessions
Weekends are officially booked for this year. There is one Friday session in November open and a few weekday sessions open. I’ve saved a few “rainout” days because last year we had to re-schedule so many sessions due to rain but didn’t have any open dates to move them to. In order to try and accommodate more families I’ve decided to do some Fall mini sessions. The first day will be Saturday, October 9th. These will be urban-style sessions done in downtown Houston. The second date is set for Saturday, November 6th at Varner-Hogg Plantation in West Columbia.
The lowdown:

I also need to announce that I’m not offering the electronic files separately this year. It just wasn’t fair to me to do sessions and spend all of the time editing, etc….and to have someone purchase just one file for their holiday card. Studio Bloom does offer holiday cards (those will be posted soon) or you have the option of purchasing the cd.
