This is my friend, Marla, and her family. I’ve known her since 6th grade and love getting to hang out with her when we get the chance. The dynamics of her family are so different than mine and I always get to laugh at her boys — they are rough, tough, and love to pounce on each other(so different than my girls that are around the same age). She tries to corral them, but usually just has to sigh and tell me that I’m lucky my one boy doesn’t have a partner to be so rough with(he does try to tackle the girls but they usually just squeal for help). Her boys did really good for the family pics, but really came alive when they got to dogpile dad. And they loved the poses they got to do when we pulled out their skateboards. I just love this age. They were so sweet and fun. And at this age they just want to cooperate and look good for their pictures. Gotta love that. And as a bonus, they had a ton of ideas for poses. Sorry your sneak peek took a little long. Enjoy!

This is my best friend’s brother and his family (he was like a brother to me growing up). When we were kids if he and my best friend, Ang, were fighting, I’d try and help her and jump right in and get my butt kicked along with her. Gotta love the good old days. Anyway he married a girl that we all love and they now have these 2 adorable boys. They are SO handsome and we had a good time trying to make some memories in pictures. Ok, I just LOVE doing shots like these. It’s all about the extras. You have to hunt down cool locations, add something funky like bright clothes, tutu’s, jackets, etc…, and throw in some rusted-out textured backgrounds. LOVE IT!! Anyway, just so we’re clear — THE KIDDOS ARE NOT CHAINED DOWN; THEY ARE HOLDING THE CHAIN(you know clanging it against the building and pulling on it)! My silly husband was like, “Is he chained to that thing?” I mean really honey, I like to say I go the distance for the perfect shot, but, no, I wouldn’t chain our son in place. WINK WINK:)!

I went out with some photographer friends of mine to do some of our kids pictures and it was lots of fun. We did have full, bright sun to deal with, but whatta ya do? Sorry, I know there’s tons of pics and I should break it down by kid, but I’m so behind on adding photoshoot sneak peeks that I’ve just got to get these all in.

PS. If you’re waiting for a sneak peek I’m working on them. I’ll have last Thursday’s shoot on here by tomorrow, and then the weekend shoots on here after that. Thanks for being patient with me.

I finally ordered a canvas for myself and really love the way it came out. Couldn’t decide on any one picture so I made a collage of pics with a poem. The one image is how it looked when I ordered it, and the one hanging on the wall is the final product. I had them do a black border along the sides because it is a stretched canvas that is ready to hang when you get it. Love it!
