and an invention. When we thought their little girl, Miss A, was all out of smiles Great Grandma came up with a new invention that had us all rolling with laughter (and it worked)!! It was pretty funny because I wasn’t paying attention to what was going on behind me so when I turned around and saw this I just had to get a picture.
What gets big smiles from this little girl?

She was an absolute doll! This is one of those posts where I have to swear that I didn’t do anything to enhance her eyes….they are that gorgeous all on their own.
I’m trying to put up a ton of sneak peeks before I take some vacation time so there may not be lots of words but hopefully lots of pics by this time tomorrow:)
Okay I can definitely say that I’m not, nor have I ever been a birdwatcher. Well, while we’re doing this shoot of one of my very favorite families the dad sees what looks like a duck way up in the tree. Hmmmm, I didn’t know ducks sat up in large oak trees but, whatever;) Skip ahead a few minutes and low and behold another duck-like bird is up in the trees. Now we can see that the beak is long and thin…so no duck. After hearing and seeing what we thought were a couple of birds we saw people walking through this area looking and pointing up in the trees. Once we started looking around there were dozens of birds and huge nests up in all of the trees. They were everywhere…and big…with huge nests. I was so mad that I didn’t have a good zoom with me so I caught a couple of shots with what I had. We were baffled as to what type of birds these were. Mackenzie spotted some that almost looked like penguins sitting up there. So, I come home that night and look at the pics of these birds. By this time I’m bound and determined to put a name to the types of birds that these are. I mean where do you go from these clues…duck-like, penguin-ish, large, long beaks and nests high in trees. Oh and let me add that with big birds comes big poop as I discovered ALL OVER the top of my vehicle! Those dang birds kept me up until at least 2:00 in the morning. I poured over the Internet trying to figure out what they are. I think I narrowed down the black & white ones but not any of the other ones. Does this now officially make me a birdwatcher?:) The cool thing is that when I zoom in on a few of the pictures one of the birds is flying in towards the nest and you can see 3 baby birds with really long beaks peeking up from the nest towards their momma. Aawwww.
On to one of my favorite families. I can’t believe I first met Miss K when she was turning 3 and now she’s 5. I’m betting that the next time I see her she’ll have lost some teeth. And her baby sister was so sweet with a huge, huge smile. Hope you guys enjoy your peek:)
Such an adorable family. Mom and I had discussed the challenges going into the shoot. We had to do it during the middle of the day which means bright, bright sunlight. There are also, not one, but two 7-month-old girls. She explained that one of them is very happy and smiles easily. The other one is very pensive…but adorable nonetheless! They drove from across town hoping that the girls would take a nap but they didn’t and then they hit lots of traffic.
We started with some posed shots and I tried just about anything to get smiles but they weren’t happening. We tried a couple of different set-ups and after just about giving up they started having some playful interaction and that turned things around. They are my faves! I really hope you guys love your peek.

Mr. M is about to have his first of several surgeries to correct his cleft lip/palate and mom wanted to get some shots before this happens. He is so sweet. Very chilled out and loved to look straight at me. I would love to know what he was thinking about this crazy person in front of him.

Then he’s probably thinking that the crazy lady is coming at me from a different angle. I’d better keep my eye on her!
When Miss K got out of the vehicle in her dress, boots and headband I got so excited. She is so photogenic! The last time we did pictures was indoors and I couldn’t wait to get some of her adorable attitude and cool attire in outdoor pictures. Her little brother, Mr. C, was so good, too. He was extremely smiley for me and you can’t beat that.
One of the things that was mentioned to bribe Miss K with was going to Chick fil A. And if you’ve read my blog at all you know that I keep them in business and might possibly turn into a nugget or fry. So as soon as we were done they headed there with me right behind them:) Hey, I can’t hear the name and not eat it!
Here’s Moose again. He’s my niece’s favorite little “boy” friend that she’s known almost since birth. They go to daycare together and both of them light up when I say the other ones name.
He’s such a good little photo subject. I have a canvas in my computer room of him smiling as a newborn…he smiled when he was 8 months old and we sat him in a wooden crate on the sidewalk downtown…and now he is smiling in most of the pictures from this session. Thanks you Mr. L for always making it easy (I’d better bite my tongue, right?)!!!
Oh my goodness was this baby girl adorable. She made her parents and aunt do crazy things to try and get smiles and didn’t give a whole lot but just look at the other facial expressions. And the pout…my favorite pout ever:) Hope you enjoy your peek.

Oh man, this little guy is a heartbreaker with his big blue eyes and cool demeanor:) He is just very easy-going and was the perfect little model this day!
