  • The Pope Family

What this sweet family didn’t know when we met up was what a stressful two weeks I had up until that point. My dad was suddenly put in the hospital with lots of tests being run. He’s my mother’s primary caretaker at home so without him there I was running thin trying to either stay there to help care for her, run to the hospital to be there for his tests, shop for everything they needed, and try to hire more help to cover 24-hrs a day.
That particular day I had spent the majority of it interviewing people and running around. I was worried about how I would be able to perform as a photographer, especially with young children. I always want it to be fun for them but didn’t know if I had it in me or how it would go. In the beginning their son wasn’t into taking pictures and I really hoped that I could turn it around. By the end of it I was having fun and I’m pretty sure the kiddos were too! I drove away and thought that their session had completely lifted me out of the funk I had been in. I smiled on the way home and was so thankful that I had their family, on that day.

So, thank you Pope Family for meeting up with me and for being you. And especially for the sweet words Mr. D said to me when we were saying goodbye. 🙂

  • Hot Momma

This cute little family will be adding a baby girl soon. They are temporarily staying in town so I’m really glad I get the chance to meet and work with them while they’re here. I loved that mom wore an outfit that really accentuates her bump…I think she looks amazing!

  • The S Family

Super sweet family with some adorable little girls! So great to catch up with them since it had been a while since we last saw each other. It was hot but they were troopers.

Look at those cute little teeth!

  • My Favorite Family To Get Into Trouble With!

I love getting to see these guys. They were one of my first families to do pictures of and since that first session in 2008 I usually get to see them at least once a year. The last few times we’ve gotten together have been memorable. At our session 2.5 years ago I ended up coming home with a dog that had been hit by a car and was struggling to swim in a pond. The session after that they were following me and my car got a flat tire. Luckily, the dog ended up okay and is sleeping next to my feet right now and the flat tire was fixed by my husband while we did the pictures. We joke around that trouble seems to find us when we’re together. This year was great though! The wind was pretty bad but we beat a thunderstorm and were able to get the pictures done. They were sharing a vacation home with some friends of theirs so I got to meet them too. Cheers to another session in the books. 🙂

The kids from the 2 families were having lots of fun together.

  • Miss K is ONE!

I absolutely adore these guys. I first met them at a maternity shoot for their first child and we did a picture on a bench where she was laying in his lap. Every session at a park since then we do the same shot. It’s pretty cute how it went from two people to three and now four!

  • A Little Bit Crazy

I drove to their side of town and we planned on meeting at a beautiful park that we had done pictures at years ago. On the way there the road I was on ended up having some construction(thanks for nothing Google Maps and Waze that both told me to go that way!) and you were forced off and sent on a detour. I started to drive up to the park and realized the entrances were closed off and there were cars parked all along the road. Something big was obviously going on at the park. We decided to look for another location. We drove a little ways and found another area but there weren’t any good spots to park the cars. Next we went to a local golf course and again, didn’t see anywhere that would work. We finally decided to use a little neighborhood park so we wouldn’t run out of light.
I’ve done pictures for them since their oldest was itty bitty and even though it was a little crazy finding a spot to do the pictures I adore them and always love getting to see them and catch up.
