  • Bluest Eyes Ever and The Chicken is Baaaacccckk

I didn’t think that anyone could have bluer (is that spelled right?) eyes than Miss A until last week when I saw her younger sister. I think Miss E’s eyes may be even a little bluer. If you don’t believe me just look at these pictures. My pictures that come straight out of the camera….no photoshopping or enhancing done….have their eyes looking that blue and sparkly. Lucky girls:)

The obnoxious yellow chicken made an appearance during this session. Miss A wasn’t quite sure about him and spent a few minutes sizing him up!

  • Cousins

These cousins (brother & sister / big sis & lil’ sis) got along so well. The older girls are within weeks of age of each other and you could tell that they will grow up super close.

The mom of the littlest one was hoping that she’d be sitting up by the time of our session but she wasn’t quite ready…almost though. They were bribed with ice cream and I hope you got them lots of scoops with lots of sprinkles because they did really great!

Hope your families enjoy the sneak peek:)

  • For A Little While…

he was super shy, hanging on to mom or dad’s leg. But once he warmed up to me and found that he really, really liked Cassidy (my daughter and assistant for the day) then he was busy and independent. When I looked through the pictures afterward I noticed that he was running in a ton of them so I had to include a set of running pics. You can even see Cassidy running beside him. And in honor of Mother’s Day I included lots of him and mom.

Hope you enjoy. It was great to meet you guys:)

  • Last of the Yellow Flowers

I think this was the last time I’m going to be able to do pictures in the field full of yellow flowers (for this year). I had a session this evening and we stopped by there and they were about gone. I’ll miss having that as a go-to spot.

Mr. J really wanted to pull the wagon all by himself and I just love the way this first picture turned out. He is great with his baby sister and she is just as cute as can be! Hope you enjoy your peek:)

  • Newborn Boy and his Family

This session was very similar to a couple other newborn shoots I’ve had lately. These newborns have come with older siblings. And all of them have been really good. Newborn sessions usually take longer than any other type of session and these siblings have to be so patient for such a long time. I can usually get some sibling shots in the beginning, maybe some family shots, possibly some shots of the older siblings but sometimes we have to pull something out of a bag of tricks…or in my case…a drawer of tricks. And this particular drawer has some old cameras, some stuffed animals, a couple of little hand held toys, and a obnoxious yellow rubber chicken. Once kiddos see me open and take something out of the drawer they become very interested in it. I have to be careful though because the biggest trick of all…THE YELLOW RUBBER OBNOXIOUS-SOUNDING CHICKEN…is quite annoying and once it’s out it usually doesn’t go back in. It makes the loudest, most obnoxious noise you’ve ever heard. It works really well at getting the kid’s attention and their smiles. But they also want to hold it (or hug on it as in the picture below) and squeeze it. And squeeze it. And squeeze it. If there are any photographers out there reading this and you have one of these I’m sure you are nodding your head in sympathetic agreement:)

My kids loved the yellow rubber obnoxious chicken when I brought it home. It’s since become off limits for them! The thing will drive you crazy but it’s there…in the drawer of tricks….and I’ll pull it out the next time I have a sibling that needs an extra trick to get that smile:)

    Hope you enjoy your peek:)

  • Shhhh…

This is a surprise Father’s Day present so if you happen to know the husband/daddy of these beautiful girls please don’t mention the pictures that you saw in this sneak peek:)

  • Family of Four

I can imagine that we were quite the sight flying around the country club where they are members on 2 golf carts carrying chairs, clothes, buckets, camera bags and anything else we thought we might need. The good thing was that we (the wife and I) unknowingly scheduled this on the day of the Masters Golf Tournament so there were not a lot of golfers out on the course. It was perfect and gorgeous.

Their girls were such troopers…it was getting late and they hadn’t had dinner yet and we kept trying to get just a little more. It’s hard not to when you have such adorable subjects, gorgeous surroundings and perfect evening light. I had a blast and I hope you guys did too. Hope you enjoy your peek:)

  • A Year Later

I had not seen this little guy since his newborn shoot. He still has the same face with the big gorgeous eyes but he’s now a fast toddler. It was great seeing and working with you guys again! Hope you enjoy your peek:)

  • A New Baby Boy

I’m so happy for this family. They are head over heels for their new little guy and big sister is so cute with him.

    Look, no hands!

  • Dream Location in the country

This is my husband’s cousin and her in-laws and when she asked if we were coming to the farm for Easter and would I mind doing pictures for them I jumped at the chance. I was honored that she wanted me to capture them and the location that they chose was phenomenal! I could literally do a photo shoot there every.single.day for an entire year and still love it. There was a barn, ponds, gorgeous trees, limbs across the ground, and gorgeous light. And on the drive over there I spotted hundreds of other great locations. Aaaaahhh, if only it were closer!

I really hope you guys love the sneak peek:)

My dad called this morning and mentioned that there was an old steam engine in Houston parked for the day at a station downtown and mentioned going to see it. I was so-so with the idea of going but knew Drew would love it. It also just so happened that I was driving my father-in-law close to there to pick up a car so it really worked out to go by and see the steam engine. And I actually really enjoyed it. MUCH larger than I expected. There were news stations there and I also noticed that a lot of elder people were there, some of them wearing railroad clothing or memorabilia. It really seems to be a dying thing (especially passenger cars and steam engines) and I was sad that a lot of those people probably have some really fond memories from the railroad. My dad can remember a steam engine that came to Houston in 1976 and said that my grandfather actually woke up in the middle of the night from hearing the steam engine come through Pearland as it left. So today my dad asked them what time they were leaving tomorrow and what route they are taking to leave Houston. Luckily, they are going to come right through Pearland again! It will be the one train that I would be happy to see come through town. They are leaving Houston at 8:00 am and he said to expect it in Pearland from as early as 9:00 to an hour and a half later just depending on how everything goes. Let me know if you spot it!
