  • A Field of Bluebonnets

We did these bluebonnet pics at a pretty big field in Memorial park. If you’re looking for some close by there’s a small patch on the hill at Independence Park and I imagine that the huge yard of bluebonnets is available in Friendswood (haven’t been this year though). If you need more details just shoot me an email.

We went to the benefit that I mentioned in my last post today. The weather turned out pretty chilly and yucky this morning (despite what the weather reports said!) but cleared up mid-afternoon. We had a great time and I hope that it was a huge success!

I’m still running about 5 days behind on proofs and sneak peeks:( I really overbooked myself this past month or so and am having such a hard time finding computer hours! I’m working on it though and hope to dig myself out soon. Chad just went and picked up Chick-fil-a and I had him get me a LARGE Dr. Pepper so that I can fuel up on caffeine and get some work done tonight. And for those friends that know what a Chick-fil-a nut I am I hope that you got a great laugh out of my mention of it here. Yes, that makes 3 times this week. Only 3 times:):)

  • The Stupid Old Green Wagon That I Love

Don’t tell Drew to read my title. Because he’s good at copying words that he shouldn’t. This weekend…Easter weekend to be exact…he started singing some new songs that he’s learned. The first went something like this: “If you want to be my lover, you gotta get with my friends”. Gotta love when your 4-year-old starts belting this out around a large group of family. The next song that he decided to mimic was “God is great, beer is good, and people are crazy”. N.I.C.E. I guess I should pay better attention to the songs that the kids are dancing to on their new WII Just Dance game.

Onto the stupid old green wagon that I love. This wagon sat outside of an antique store forever. And every time I would drive by I’d eye it and think that I should stop and buy it but you know that I’ve mentioned that Chad is going to strangle me for bringing home photo stuff. Especially photo stuff that takes up room. I probably eyed this old green wagon for a good 5 or 6 months. Then it disappeared! Darn! Someone bought it. Then a month later I go into this store and there it sits…except that it has a sold sign on it. Oh well, maybe I’ll find another one. And then the next month I go in and it still sits there…sold. And the next month…sold. I figured it must be on layaway. So fast forward to February. I go into the store and it’s still there…torturing me…because by now I really want the stupid thing. I actually had a dream about it and how I’d incorporated it in a session. So I ask the people at the front what the deal was with this wagon. Oh, that wagon. The owner of the wagon decided she didn’t want to sell it after all and was going to use it to sit things in. Sit things in? Um no, I had much bigger plans for this old green wagon. So I decide to leave her a message begging and pleading for the thing. And I never heard from her. So onto March. I go in. I see the wagon. I walk to the front and ask again. They say that they gave her my message but that she’s never seen a green wagon and really wants to keep it. But, one of them will call her and see if she’s changed her mind. They tell her that the crazy, obsessed with her green wagon lady is there and really wants to buy it. And she caves!! Hallelujah!! And I got my wagon. Nevermind that I had to pay $20 more than it originally was:) So, this was the first session where we used it. It was already about dark but I got to use my very own old green rusted-out wagon:):)!

Sorry that I’m so far behind to the people that are waiting on me for something! I didn’t take into account that we’d be gone 3 days for Easter and I’m trying to jump back in and catch up.

  • Miss Happy Go-with-the-Flow

She was the happiest little girl ever. Full of smiles, big dimples, and big blue eyes…adorable!

    Hope you enjoy your peek:)

  • Siblings

These 2 sisters and their brother were so fun to work with. Their mom was a little frustrated with some attitude she was getting about doing the pictures before we met up but once we started they were up for anything and only showed me the best of manners. I guess our own kids only save the tudes’ for us:)

    Hope you enjoy the peek!

  • Family of 4

This is one of the patient families that had to be rescheduled about a million times this winter because of weather. Finally we were able to meet in person. I had fun with your family. Hope you enjoy your peek:)

  • 4 Girls & A Guy

I love families of 5…I guess because the dynamics are the same as my family. The dad is a little outnumbered by the girls, but it didn’t seem to phase him. They’ve lived several places around the globe and have the coolest accent:) Thanks for the fun afternoon…hope you love your sneak peek:)

  • Sunshine….aaahhhh

It’s spring break for us and the house can attest to that. Just one day into it and it’s falling apart fast! And right now I’m going a little crazy…just got home from a photo shoot and the dogs are breathing on me, staring up at me begging for a walk. The kids are arguing from the other room taking turns coming in here tattling on each other. Drew just stuck a metal spoon in the Easy Bake Oven. I let them paint today and there’s little paint prints all over the bathroom vanity, toilet seat (?), and white towels. I need to run down to the neighbors and feed their cat. The kitchen is a huge mess and I’m falling behind. This reminds me why I stress during summer vacation!!! The session was great though and I can’t wait to share the pictures from one of my regular families.

Onto this super sweet family. They were awesome to work with and their little boy is just the sweetest thing. We had to actually run a little from the bright, bright sun….BUT I’m not complaining! I’m so glad that spring is on its way. Hope you enjoy your peek:)

  • If Only

If only we had known in the beginning of the shoot that to get this little guy to want to be in the picture you had to set up the shot without him in the picture. Make perfect sense? We tried and tried to get him into a family shot under the gorgeous tree and he wanted nothing to do with it. He wanted to explore and do his own thing so we decided that fine, we would just do pics of his parents. And what do you know, take a look at that 2nd picture. Yep, he wanted to be with them. Next we made a trip to a ditch/field/overgrown weeds behind a building area that I had spotted that day. I have a picture of Drew in an area similar to this and it’s one of my faves. So I mentioned it to them and we ran over there. And the good thing about it is that he couldn’t go far once he was in the middle of the tall weeds. We sang and played and got some adorable pictures of him there.

  • A great Valentine’s Day

I hope everyone had a great day! I really enjoyed my day. We have been running around so much lately that it was great to have a day to chill with the family. It was actually gorgeous outside — which is surprising with the way the weather has been lately — and we were able to walk the dogs in the neighborhood and play outside for hours. I even took the camera out and took pics of the kids playing. I hadn’t done that in years…literally. I’ll try and share those pics this week. I’ve sadly gotten to the point where I’m either tired of the camera or worry about the background not being good or the kids not being dressed nice enough or their hair not brushed. It’s really sad and I’m going to try and get better at the everyday pictures:)

This family’s session was one of many that has had to be rescheduled because of bad weather. I’m so glad we were finally able to meet up. Hope you enjoy your peek:)

  • Family of Five

It turned out to be such a gorgeous day for this photo shoot except that it was COLD. At least it was cold for us Texans. The kids would take turns running to their vehicle to warm up or put on layers in between pictures. We tried out a new location that I had been eyeing and I loved it! It had some of the only green grass that you see this time of year and a little bit of urban:) I know I’ll be going back there soon.

Sorry to make you wait for the sneak peek…hope you enjoy:)
